I have 42 pounds of Babbit that measured (sb 7.67, sn 85.09, pb .36, cu 5.51). I am planing to cast for my 223 Mihec mold and also some 300 blackout. Any ideal of a good mix for this with WW's and some Linotype. I am solder/babbit rich and Linotype poor with a fair supply of WW's.

Forget the lino, you'll have too much tin. You'd be best with something along the lines of 6.375# COWW, .25# babbit. That will get you a rather tough hard boolit alloy that should shoot rather well in a 223. Maybe add 2# purish lead to bring the Sn,Sb, and Cu down a bit for a good water dropped alloy for the Blackout and medium velocity 223 loads. I intentionaly made the batch small...just multiply each component by 2 for a near 20 # batch, and so on.

I usually add about 1/2 of a lyman bar to 12 pounds of ww/range scrap.
They shoot good with no leading.

I have shot this mix in my 25 cal wild cat and the 300 sav,308 win and the 303 British.

Thanks for the input. I am tempted to try the blackout first.
