Does anybody know what this contains. Appears very brittle. Melts easy.

I never took a gas meter apart....didn't know they had lead in them.
Are you sure it's lead?

what temp does it melt? does it cast a nice boolit ? pictures ,?

I have not tried casting yet, need a little info. Local salvage guy just sold 1600#. He gets meters by the semi load.

I think they are tin so they will not react with the sulfur mercapan that is put in gas to make it smell

Could be zinc.
When you say "melts easily", do you know what temperature?
