The rifle is a Pedersoli "Quigley"The calibre is .45-120 The projectile is a 530 Gr Paper patched boolit. I'm looking for load information with BP. What grade and how much? I filled a case with FFFG and weighed the charge= 120 Grs
Filled the same case with Pyrodex RS and it weighed 100 Grs. I read that 3F BP is good for BP cartriges?
What about Buckhorn 209?
Any and all adv ice is much appreciated!

For that Roman Candle of a case most successful shooters use Fg. Fill the case and weigh to get the starting charge. Compress the charge with a powder compression die or plug enough to seat your bullet and then see how it shoots. Try charge weights of 5 grain increments above and below the starting. The 45-120 can be a challenge to get a good shooting load and it does tend to foul rather badly so use lots of breaths in a blow tube or wipe between shots. Good Luck.
