Gentlemen,

This will sound like a stupid question, but what mold drops the boolit that is pictured in the cast boolits logo? I have some boolits, via a trade with another member whose name I can't recall, that look just like it. They are 30 caliber (.314" as cast from his alloy), weigh 120grs, and are plain base with a flat point and a single grease groove.

I'd like to buy this mold, as I'm using these boolits in my CZ-52 7.62X25mm and my supply is limited. I've looked at quite a few molds on Midwayusa and can't find a match.

thanks for any help.

Sorry for the dumb question.

Those boolits were drawn by the graphics artist Willy hired for the CB work, I do not believe he went off any particular design and instead went with what "looked like a boolit".

It is a handsome looking thumper eh?

I am always reminded of the .314 120 Group Buy that Willbird ran a while back. I was fortunate enough to get one of the extras he had when I first joined the site.

The bullet on the logo looks like the old lyman 3118 that would cast about .312 and 115 grains too - you might take a look at it.

You know why I like the design very much? Because it has no crimp groove. It's a minature lube groove, instead. ... felix

I swear these boolits look EXACTLY like the ones in the logo, down to the tiny crimp/lube groove.

I'll look at 3118 and see if that's close. Jut wish I could remember who I got these from.

This is a poor picture, the actual bullets look more like the drawing than you would think from this picture, about the only difference is the round grease groove. They are very accurate in my rifle. I think it is an LBT mold.

This about as close as I can find at the monent. It isn't .30 cal. but .324. Hensley & Gibbs #226 wieghing 121 grains. I believe H&G had a .30 cal one like it also. Notice the grease groove is a bit smaller that the logo pic....geo

Bustem,

That's it. Of course it's not a mold I can just order off the shelf, figures.

Thanks

E-mail Willbird, maybe he has a 314-120 mould left from the group buy.
