I'm trying to decide on a mould for my Uberti 7 1/2" Bisley in 45 Colt and have narrowed it down to either the RCBS 45-255-SWC or RCBS 45-270-SAA. This will mostly be used for target shooting at 0 - 200 yds. I'm leaning towards the 255 simply because of the lighter weight. The only other RCBS mould I own is a 44 - 250 KT and with WW's it actually casts a 260 gr. bullet. I guess I'm concerned the 270 would actually turn out 280 or so grs.

Anyone have any experience with these moulds? Loads? Velocities?
FWIW, RCBS currently has a rebate program that's gives a $10 on purchases of $50 or more. That makes a $69 mould $59!

Thanks,

I have both and like them both. The 270 does cast heavy, and your guess of about 280 gr is right on the money, with wheelweights. Both shoot well, and there is not much difference for target shooting. I got the 45-270-SAA as a hunting bullet, but I was never dissatisfied with the 255.
