I'm building my first wet tumbler and plan on using a heavy plastic drum with SS media. Just wondering how well it will hold up due to the abrasion involved. Anyone out there with experience on this? Opinions welcome. Thanks.

My thumblers tumbler is lined with rubber and it seems to hold up just fine. I've seen them made out of PVC or plastic drums.

My PVC drum has probably 15-20 hours on it and there isn't even a mark inside it. I know thats not that many hours but the PVC cement that was smeared out of the edges isn't even rubbed away from the pins doing their work.
I would venture to say that a PVC drum will last a lot of years of heavy use.

I didn't have any PVC on hand but I did have an old plastic chemical sprayer that seems to be pretty well built; think I will give it a try. Thanks for the replys.
