Guys I'm sorry if this has been covered. I searched and could not find them on the forum.

I just found a Marlin 32 1894CB rifle in 32 H&R Magnum. I also have 2 S&W Model 16's, M&P and Webley in 32 S&W Long. I have loaded for the revolvers with Bullseye and Unique. With the powder shortage I found the last pound of Red Dot at the store.

Bullets are cast 100gr Flat Point and 90gr Round Nose.

Could someone post their favorite loads with these bullets and powders. Nice easy target shooting. Is what I'm looking for. Thanks

I found a Marlin 32 H&R this fall - new in a small gun shop. My first loads are 10.5gr of W296, Hornady 100gr XTP, CCI SP and the Oregon Trail 115gr cast bullet with 5.5gr of HS6 and CCI SP. Both nice loads. I just purchased an NOE 115gr GC mold for the 311316 (0.314-in dia) bullet to try next. I am installing a Marbles tang site soon and will do some accuracy testing when the snow melts.

I'm going to try Green Dot under a 115 grain LFP in .32 Magnum this spring. One of my buds swears its the perfect powder for anything .32.

100 grain SWC over 2.0 +/- in a 32 S&W Long case is an old standby, even in old lighter weight revolvers (S&W I-frame.) I wouldn't be afraid to go 20% higher in a strong revolver or your Marlin lever gun.

RCBS 32-84 RN over 2.0 Red Dot in the 32 Long. Like shooting a pop-gun, but it will stop a rampaging paper target at 25 yards. And at 3500 loads to the pound of powder, you can kill a lot of paper!

RCBS 32 098 over 2.5gr. Bullseye in the .32 S&W-L. Shot 50 of them this afternoon. They are right at 700FPS for a nice light accurate load.

That sounds like quite the "paper punch." A nice, mild, accurate load for small game and target fun. WHAT A BLAST! (Pun intended.)

Loading 1.9 grains of Bullseye for a little NEF revolver, makes 100 yards but mild enough for shooting everyday. I tried it all the way down to 1.4 grains @ 50 yards but, that one generated more heat than necessary. Upping the charge cooled the revolver.

Pre-detonation? ("Echoing" within the casing, resulting in generating excessive heat?)

I bought a S&W Model 16 in .32 mag about a year ago.

A super-nice revolver to be sure...and I need to get some reloading gear for this cartridge..dies and maybe a bullet mold or two..

This topic intersts me a lot!

Nice! I'll bet that if you packed the charge holes with a 100-grain hot load, you would have a nice "fight stopper" with decent penetration and a nasty hole. Low recoil and accuracy can add to the handgun's effectiveness. There's nothing like a well-placed bullet to bring the "dance" to a standstill.

Indeed. I have stepped it up a bit and it is still accurate. My RCBS is a 100gr. bullet and I have a 115gr. brass SC mold I am gonna fire up for this gun and the .32 Mag.

Watch your pressures and keep from exceeding the limits for the .32 H&R Magnum. I would either find an old H&R cylinder, or have one fabricated from modern (read: better) materials. That way you won't have it blowing up in your face. The H&R cylinders tend to be a bit brittle. It was their inherent nature. The early H&R cylinders weren't heat treated very well.

I have both the Magnum and Long to work with. Smiths and a Ruger. I won't try to "Magnumize" the old I or J frames.

I have an H&R Model 733 (in .32 S&W Long) that performs quite well with "peppy" loads. I just wish I had the ability to put a 4", nickel-plated "standard" .32 Long roll marked barrel on the little round-butt beauty. The little jewel is nearly brand new. (I think I have put about 100 rounds through it at the most.) It fits nicely in a jacket pocket, and gives me a sense of great comfort when I take out the trash.

Happiness is a warm revolver.

Thank you all for the suggestions. I have laid in a substantial amount of primers, powder, cases and guns oh and bullets too. This spring should be a lot of fun.

I've been looking for some 32H&R Magnum data using 115 grain cast boolits and Green Dot. What will be your starting load?

I would love to see some of these Green Dot loads. I just found a lot of Green Dot powder.

I have a 4" S&W model 31, and a "rook rifle" lined by John Taylor that I bought from another member on this board. To me the beauty of the .32's is the quiet factor. 85 grain cast with 1.4 grains of VV 310 is quieter than some airguns when fired out of the rifle. Need to see how quiet I can get it using .311+" round balls.

I have loaded multiball loads with the 311round ball. 2 with 2.4 gr's Bullseye. Surprising they were accurate and shattered a block of ice.

Hi! Im waiting for my Webley mk4 32swl pocket pistol to arrive, loading up some rcbs 98gr wc. Would it be smart to use 32 hr mag cases trimmed to a length so that the wc bullet had less jump to throat?. Just rambling, the wc bullet loaded flush in case of course. I'm not after magnum loads, just as good as it gets target loads. Any suggestions for different bullets etc?

All my 32's get 90 grain .314 truncated cone boolits from the lee mold over 2 grains of Red Dot.

Shoots to sights, plenty accurate, better than I am. Soft on the hands and ears and easy on the pocket.

There are 32's that those heavy bullets would be hard on as a steady diet.

Outpost75 is THE guy on 32's.

multifasciatus,

I am not familiar with the Webley and not sure about its accuracy potential but I can tell you that bullet jump is not an issue in any of my .327s that get fed a steady diet of .32 S&W Long reloads. You might also find that the longer case, when trimmed to whatever length they would need to be trimmed to would cause the bullet to be sized down more than warranted and cause a different accuracy limiting issue.

If it is in fact a 32 Smith and Wesson long chambered revolver, you will not be able use the longer brass, the cylinder throats are too tight. If it is chambered in 320 revolver, which is actually similar to the 32 colt revolver cartridge, you could use a longer case, but it would have to be .320 diameter rather than .337 as in the 32 S&W long and its descendants, the 32 H&R, and 327 Federal Magnum.
