I purchased some lead alloy. The information I was provided with it said that it was a 96-2-2 alloy. What would you estimate the BHN of this alloy to be? Thank you for all information provided!

Wild guess 8.5 to 10 bhn air cooled.

97/1.5/1.5 will age harden and stabilize (after 24 hours) at 9.8 BHN.
I would guess yours to be 10 to 11 BHN.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to cast some boolits with this alloy for my .44 special. Normally I use a 50/50 alloy of wheel weights and pure lead which works well. When I bought this batch of lead it was the 96-2-2 alloy. Will it be soft enough to obturate and seal the bore, or will I need to add some pure lead to the alloy? Opinions? Thanks!
