Bought this stuff dfrom an estate sale. Does the lead bars look familiar? It does not ring when I drop it but it is pretyty bright.6067360674

That is bar solder. It should have a lead to tin ratio stamped somewhere. If there is no ratio stamp it could also be pure block tin.

OK then!! I'll have to look closer. Got 12 bars of it.

If you bend it, does it creek, or cry, as it's been called. Pure tin will do that.

Tin will also give a lemony odor when bending. Listen and smell.
Ok so when I should have been in school I was working in a junk yard. We bought a lot of tin at $00.10 per pound mistaken by the seller for lead. Most was in beer cooling coils.

The sales Rep had these 12 bars in a box along with the primers and powder. Paid 50 dollars ln cast bullets for it. Guess I made better deal than I thought.

it don't look right for pure tin. [pure tin is alway's glassy smooth and satiny looking]
60-40 would be my guess.

Its 10% tin and 90% lead. Good enough for me. Got to see if there is more.
