I thought I had hit a home run. Got 2 buckets of wheel weights totaled 240 pounds. I hauled out the burner and started sorting weights to melt. Long story short, I sorted over a half bucket of iron weights, and a handful on Zinc.
Out of 240 original pounds I got just over 100 pounds.
I've had to sort some iron and zinc before but not near that much. Hope this was just a fluke deal and doesn't become the norm.

Same happened to me last score. I got 500 pounds and over 200 pounds were steel. I think it's where we are heading.

The wheel weights I got for nothin from a gas station. I am grateful at least to be getting some lead. I know a lot of people have to buy it for a dollar a pound.

My brother in law came back from the tire shop and gave me a 20 lb. box of clipons. There were 3 one ounce weights in the entire box. Kalifornia sucks!!

My local scrapper offers to sell me wheel weights for $.50 a pound, and offers to allow me full credit for all returned steel and zinc weights.
Can't lose with that deal!
