Gas regulator on my Plumber's Furnace is broken Please help me ID the broken part. I have an old propane powered plumber's melter I use to smelt scrap lead to ingots. The red plastic turn handle on the gas regulator is brittle and I would like to replace it. Home depot people did not know what it was. I was wondering if anyone has some experience where to get parts for repair. I called a local supplier and they were unhelpful as well. It's a Rego. Thanks in advance. BTW what type of regulator is this? Other than Rego there's no markings. What's the red knob called as well, I told the tech it is an adjusting knob and all I got was, Huh?

Safest to just replace the regulator assembly as a whole. Find a scrapped grill and remove the regulator from it.

Go to a welding supply where they sell oxygen and acetylene, they will ID your regulator and might have a rebuild kit for you.

They sell good regulators with gauges for not a lot of money. I have one of these on my blacksmith gas forge. Chances of a torch and regulator repair shop having an older RegO kit might be kind of iffy. And new RegO regulators are a tad pricey.

Thanks, I'll check the local welding supply store.

My guess is that parts may be hard to come by. I would try to find them but I would be prepared to buy a new regulator. I would try a propane supplier for parts and/or new regulator. All the box stores have is the new fangled regulators that fit on grills.
