I have an 1886 in 33 on the way and was looking at new brass and have a question. Do any of the new ones have the correct head stamp on them and if so are they good brass. I also have a 45-70 so I just wanted to keep things right if it is practical to do so. Will also be looking for a correct mold for the 1886 in 33.

RCBS 33/200 fngc works for me.

New Brass from a large brand name manufacture: I would assume there brass had the correct head stamp. If it were from another smaller manufacture known for its resizing techniques. They would have to claim their cases were reformed form other brass >right on their products label. I think saying that is whats called "truth in advertizement."

Yes, there is brass made with the 33 Winchester head stamp. Last year I bought 100 Jamison cases from Graf's on sale for my 1886 33 Win. The price I paid was much less for 100 rds than the price listed here. Sometimes there is a good sale price! I also found Jamison 45-60 brass at a reasonable price. You can check to see about availability here:
http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/category/categoryId/795?
Are you going to load Jacketed and or cast?
There is a mold buy here for the NOE Lyman type 33820.
Good Luck

Wow! Three brands offered, $30/ 20 cases. $40/ 20 cases and $50/ 20 cases.
I have formed a lot of 33-Win with the RCBS 2-Die form die set. Easy and saves a LOT of $$$$
You would not have the correct headstamp as was your question but you would never mix 45-70 and 33-Win by even the wildest chance.

Most times on obselete case's they will indicate that they have the correct head stamp. The Quality brass and Jamisons dont say they do on Graffs or Buffalo arms. So I figgured some of you guys would have bought some and know first hand. It will mostly be cast boolit shootin.
