ruger 1911

i received a new ruger 1911 a month ago. Ive heard that its supposed to come with 2 mags,a 8 rounder,and a 7 rounder.

My gun came with 2 8 rounders,a stainless one with ruger logo, and a blued one that says car/garr,or something like that....

Any of you guys that bought this pistol, get magazines this way?

Ive e-mailed ruger,but they dont e-mail back,,,they must be to busy,,,,,i havent called cause i cant seem to get home on time...

Mine came with a 7-round and an 8-round magazine.

Your second magazine is probably a MecGar, made in Italy. Extremely good quality magazines, and I use them in several different guns. They also make OEM magazines for several of the large manufacturers. I'd say you probably came out on top of that deal.

It's also possible that someone where you bought the gun wanted a Ruger marked magazine and traded the MecGar for it.

The two that came with mine were both stainless "Ruger" mags, the 8rnd with the bumper and the 7rnd flush with no bumper.

I'd say pick up the phone and call ruger.

Actually the MecGar makes magazines for a lot of pistol manufacturers and is a quality mag. Like ReloaderFred stated , you probably came out ahead on the deal. Two 8 rounders sounds sounds better than 1- 8 and 1-7. If you gotta have a 7 rounder call Ruger but keep the MecGar. After getting 2 mags for my AMT Hardballer all my feeding problems were solved and have been using them for several years now...they are good magazines.

I`d call ruger or who ever sold you the gun.I have looked at a couple of diffrent rugers had ss mags 7 and 8 rd.
