Oh wow...I grew up, early teens reading Louis Lamour. I read all his book in a 3 yr period.
His writings were a big influence on me, to the point I wanted to name my boy Jubal after Jubal Sackett. But I settled with Seth instead.

I reread every one every three years or so. They never get old. Jubal Sackett or the Walking Drum are two of the best.

I have all (130 ?) of 'em. Reread all occasionally. Good winter pastime !

When I worked offshore, Louis L'Amour's books were always present on the rigs and the platforms and even a few copies on the crewboats.
Unfailingly entertaining no matter how many times you reread them.

I believe that I have every one of his works, short stories included. Was reminded of one the other day when I got to shoot a replica Ferguson rifle!

I think I have all but 8 or 10 of Louis' books. 3 copies I think, of "The Lonesome Gods" and "Last of the Breed". Hard covers of "Flint" and "The Walking Drum".

Also have DVDs of "The Shadow Riders", "Crossfire Trail", "The Quick and the Dead", and I think I have "Conagher" somewhere.

Louis was sort of the literary version of Charlie Russell. He was pretty keen on accuracy and authenticity.

I had all his westerns in paperback, passed down from my granddad to my uncle to me. Loved his story-telling and descriptions of places.

You have no idea how much I would like to shoot one, not to mention go through the loading process. Talk about "generations" ahead!

I grew up reading them with my step-dad. I never really got into them as much as he did, but they passed the time then.
