I have been kicking this idea around for a while, I started with the 124gr. 9mm Lyman Devestator HP mold, I machined the beveled base into a gas check base, it came out perfect.
For hollow points I use 50/50 Linotype/Pure mixture for;
Lead 92%
Antimony 6%
Tin 2%
BHN 15
The final weight of bullet with GC is 136 grains.

How did you add material to the mold for a gas check base?

Material had to be removed to make the gas check base. it had a rather pronounced beveled base before, which was smaller in diameter than the GC base.
like this60017, I machined the BB straight, to the proper diameter for a 35 caliber GC.

I also had an issue with with casting these, sometimes the base would not fill all the way and leave a rounded GC base. I increased the diameter of the spru hole by about .020". That seems to have pretty much taken care of it.
Could you post a close-up photo of the modified mold cavity?

Yah, what Jerry said. This is how I did mine:

That's a Lyman 375248 which is a plain base. I wanted gas check.
I showed ya mine, now show us yours.
Welcome to the site too.

It looks like you added a piece to the mold that became the GC base, great idea, me thinks I need to do that to another mold.
Here is mine. I didn't have to add anything to this one, just machine the beveled base into a GC base.
I didn't think to take a before picture.

Great work on the final products (boolits & mold) looks good. Kind of a hard alloy for a handgun HP; may want to adjust the alloy to a softer BHN and since you now have a GC on there you will have a boolit that can launch well as the base of the boolit won't skid.

Thanks everyone, I'm only an amatuer machinist/gunsmith, but I am careful, and do precise work.
RobS, Thanks for the tip on hardness, I'm going to begin testing soon. I tend to drive my lead pretty hard. For this initial test I'll be working up a recipe that was originally a 135 grain LRN, about 1100fps. I also have enough pure lead and tin on hand to make the E. Keith 16/1 alloy as well.

Very nice iraiam.
Yes, since mine was a plain base I had to add metal to get what I need.
