Where do I buy one? What do I want to look for to be sure it is what I need?

Thanks

I bought one from Brownells many years ago. It finally went to pot and I asked them where to send it for repair. They just sent me a new one free of charge. Now I do whatever business I can with them. Doubt anyone else has that kind of service.

Rotometals, they are a site sponsor. Banner link at the top of the page and they sell exactly what you need.

Tel-Tru makes a great 200-1000 degree thermometer that works great in your lead pot.

Here is a link where you can find the Tel-Tru LT225R 1000 degree thermometer for $18.95. Compare the exact same item at other vendors for twice the price.

I ordered the Tel-Tru LT225R from BBQFans (link is in above post) on Wednesday, it was sitting at my door today here in SC today... Two days... That was pretty great service. An added + is that they only charge $5.00 for shipping!

Plan on trying it out tomorrow. :-D

A few years ago I bought a flue gas thermometer at eBay, it looks similar to the one from RCBS and works fine.
