We had one dickens of a rain storm here yesterday afternoon and last night. This was not just heavy rain, it definitely would meet the criteria for a torrential downpour.

A local blogger and writer, Fred First, posted on his blog, "Fragments From Floyd (http://www.fragmentsfromfloyd.com/)", that the gravel road through the valley to his house was washed out. They're waiting for VDOT to get in and fix it.

Fred shot a photo of the road and the creek next to it in full flow. He added some verbage with arrows to show the damage. Notice the spelling of the verbage.

Jim we got a good one here. It took out part of the levee I pushed up last fall to flood my 8 acre bottom corn field, now I know the ducks won't come in.

Jim, do you need to borrow the airboat? Just be careful, it IS 550 hp.

Your rain is our snow and high winds.
Stay safe,

What is this "rain" and "snow" of which you speak? High winds, we have plenty of that from time to time.

18 miles E of the Continental Divide we conside anything less than 35 mph a slight breeze. If you plan for the range you better be done with load checking by 10:00 AM. Moisture would be nice, though.

Jim, ya'll got what was left after it came through here! Rained more than an inch and hour for a while and then rained all night Tuesday. My back yard looked almost like that creek! Glad to get the rain, but it would'a been nice to get a little at a time. LOL Yeah I know, nobody is ever happy with the weather! :)

Some of Jim's leftover water made it here, plenty of wind, but just branches, NO TREES this time in the drive !

I remember reading meters @ the trailer court on the SE end of Soda, stepping over phone lines and looking down at the roof tops. With an Army surplus shovel in my back pocket, I don't miss those days.

Don't ya just hate them damned creeks? How does Mr. Bill assess the situation?

Then there is the backside of the storm. The forcast is less than an inch and a low of 10. The wind has the stuff moving across the yard real fast.

Mr. Bill didn't have a clue. He was curled up in my range bag, sound asleep!

We got some of Jim's rain in my basement. Not flooded out, but enough to keep me busy yesterday.

Sure wish you boys would send a little rain to western Nebraska. I'm afraid we'll burn plumb up this summer.

Certainly a good amount of rain there. Wish we could get a little of that down here.
