I need 30-30 mold. Please recommend. Will be using in a Marlin 336 and a single shot. Lots to choose from, so other than Lyman 311041 which I already know is good. What about the Lyman 311466?

Thanks.

Oh you would open this up...............lol! I have a couple for all my 30 caliber rifles. In order of preference in 30-30; Ranch Dog 311-165-RF (HP), 180gr NOE 311041 (HP), NOE 311-155-RF, and Lee 309-150-RF. Slug your barrel first, then try a handful from those who can provide you some at little, or no, cost "before" you obligate yourself and you end up having several that are "iffy". I too have a single shot. You can load any .30 caliber bullet design that fits your bore since its not in any magazine. I have a 180 grain. 311332 with a gas check that works well.

Accurate Molds 31-180E; 180g plain base. Sized .311 over 10.0g of Unique. SUPERB!!!!!!

OK, thanks. RD is no longer making molds, BUT went to NOE site and they offer the 311 165 [RD] as of 13jan13, in 2, 4 & 5 cavity. So....

I have had really good luck with the lee 170 grn flat nose. Although I shoot it in my '06, I shoot at 1500fps. Easily doable in the 30-30 and a good game worthy boolit as well.

DeanWinchester what alloy are you using for the PB? how accurate @ 50, 100? I tried unique but am trying 2400 now as the unique wasn't very accurate. I'm guessing the unique load gets you up around 1500 fps.

The Lyman 311041 is the "standard" by which all others are judged by, particularly for the 30-30 in a lever gun.
