Any one here cast and load for an ole 41 LC, using the .386 dia. hollow base bullets? I just bought one and am having trouble finding bullets. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I don't remember which number is which but the two molds for the 41LC are 386177 and 386178 Lyman numbers. I think the 178 is a .401 cast heel and the other is the HB. I found my mold on e-bay for almost stupid money. the HB pin on my mold looks almost like its a 90* point. I think it needs to be longer, think 38 hbwc. What help do you need?

I just loaded some for my neighbor. I have an old mold but it is the heeled version not the hollow base version. They shoot well but I did not have any 41 Colt dies so had to fudge and couldnt crimp them. They are fairly loose fit in the case and can be pulled out with fingers but like I said shoot good. My neighbor has a realy nice old peace maker in 41.

AggiEE need to buy some of the hollow base bullets. Bullshop you can make a hand crimper for the heel base bullets by drilling out one of the large holes in a set of wire strippers.

I am pretty certain the guy who runs Old West Bullet molds (they have a website) makes a crimper for .41 Colt.
