Cast through a brake

I 've different stuff but can you shoot cast through a muzzle brake like on a 516 striker. I've heard some say it can clog the the ports.

I have shot thousands of boolits through various brakes. I have them on my 7BR, 500 S&W and 50AK and have NEVER had a port get clogged. The brakes vary from Harrell, MGM and Holland, and truth be told I don't even bother cleaning them but once a year or so.

I've seen lead build up in Magna-ports and other muzzle break openings. It is very easy to clear; just scrape it off.
