Just talked a new shooter into buying a clean Argentine Mauser rechambered to 7.65-'06. Some lead loads for my standard .30-06 shot without keyholing, but I would like your input on whether he will have to swap expander buttons to get decent accuracy. Any experience with this?

I would first slug the barrel to find out what the bore dimensions are. Then decide what size cast bullet you should have or proper sized jacketed bullet. Frank

All the 7.65 and 7.65-'06 Argies I've shot (quite a few actually) have shot the best with .312 - .314 cast bullets.

I have used .311 and .312 Dia. jacketed bullets in 7.65mm Argie bore barrels. Best to slug bore for size first.
