I'll go and post on the WTB section, too. Kinda interested
in putting one together, never did it, just thought it might
be an interesting project, not interested in the crazy prices
out there and pretty much zero availability.

Thanks.

I have been scratching this itch for a couple years and kept putting it off. Since january the itch has subsided with the prices. I only wanted the challenge and learning curve of doing it, not that I really care for them.

Similar situation. No fan of AKs, have had a few, my personal opinion is that
Jeff Cooper's comment that they were "The People's bullet hose." is the most
complete and accurate short description of these guns. I would use one if
I had to, but only if a real gun were not available.

OTOH, I'd like to try to put one together and do it well, see if it helps the
dismal accy that I have seen. The ones that I have owned made Mini 14s
seem accurate.

Cole Distributing has Egyptian kits today yet for $200. Missing trigger guard and list condition as good. I haven't bought from them or seen these. I did see AMD-65s some place the other day for about the same price.

I'm not a big AK fan and my experience with them is what formed my opinion. But like the guy said, everyone should one laying around. If for no other reason, for historical reasons.

PS

The AMD kits are at ArAkGuns for $229.
