I saw one the other day at my local gun dealer and it really looked good to me. I especially like the hammer tension.
Anyone have any experience with these revolvers? It was an 1873 Cattleman in nickel finish. It felt great in my hand.

Actually you are talking about Uberti and I have 3 of them. Excellent guns however keep in mind they can't handle Ruger loads but SAAMI standard ammo no +P at all. Stoeger is another company owned by Beretta.

I'm on my second Uberti Cattleman, this one in 44-40 WCF--and it is a jewel. It has been here less than a month, but it shoots and functions in excellent fashion--just like its predecessor in 45 Colt.

I think they are a great gun and can usually be had for a decent price. I would really love to try one in. 44 special

If it looked good to you and felt good in your hand, why is it still at the shop?

I have two Uberti .44 Specials and LOVE them!

I've also had a 7 1/2" Uberti Bisley in 45 Colt in the safe for a couple of months. I've half-heartedly tried to sell it, but alas, it's still there. Well, yesterday Dad and I got it out and ran 50 rounds through it. It will NOT be leaving any time in the near future as it shot very well in terms of accuracy.

Buy it!

I have 2 of them in 44-40, a 7.5" and a 4 3/4 in the birds head grip. Love the big one, can't seem to hit anything with the bird's head.

It is still there because:
1. Everyone else is buying tacticool stuff.
2. I usually save up the money before buying guns and fly rods. I figure that I should endure the pain before being overwhelmed with the joy of shooting.

The Ruger loads are of no interest to me as I have just recently switched back to all black powder and am very pleased with the results. So it should work fine for my applications.

Thanks for the reviews. It just went on my list, along with the Pedersoli Rolling Clock in .45-90.

Yes only one of the 3 I have had a problem with black powder. That was the 5.5" barrel version and had to have the cylinder/barrel gap widened as mine from the factory was about .001 which should of been from .003 to .006. Dealer (Bud's) sent it back and it was returned in 1 week fixed. Been great with all loads since.

Have the 1873 cattleman and would not get rid of it, shoots very well.
