Does anybody know of a mail-order or online supplier who has large pistol primers in stock?

Good luck -- panic buying spread from "assault rifles" to all the ammo they might use, to all semi-autos and ammo they might use (rifle or pistol), to everything. I've been seeing bulk .22 LR online for $90 for 333 rounds, when I can find any at all. The only thing I'll be shooting any time soon is my Mosin Nagant -- I've got 500+ rounds of surplus left for that...

If I switch to magnum large pistol primers I can work up my loads with them and be safe, of that I am certain. Also, many of my loads use AA#9, which works well with magnum primers anyway. What effect on accuracy should I expect working with fast burning powders like Unique (once I adjust my charge down to achieve the same speeds as before)?

You shouldn't see much difference at the same velocity with unique.

Not much chance in the short run, things are crazy now. After the first big panic
about 10 yrs ago or more, I have kept a good stock, never want to run out when
this silliness strikes, as it does periodically.

Good luck.

And the prices never seem to go down, either...

Nope, that's the worse thing.....well that, and the fact that we're doing it to ourselves.

Once they figure out people will pay that price they don't drop it.
