I picked up some red dot (all they had) and looking on my lee load-all charge table shot=1oz and 2 3/4 shell......( 2 3/4 1150fps) i use bushing .155 (3 1220fps) i use .163 bushing and (3 1/4 1290) I use .173....i just want to make sure i understand ....all 3 bushing sizes are safe loads......there just more power and speed for the slug. thanks for the help.....ed

Do you know how much, for sure, each bushing drops? Weighing the charge that is thrown by the bushing is the first and most necessary step. Do so and be better informed.

the bushing capacity chart chart says.....155=18.0........163=18.9.....and.171=19.8 and is in grains.....i'll have to get a scale, sounds like a good idea

Excellent Idea. Bushing charts are often wrong, and powder can and does vary lot to lot.

ALWAYS double check with a scale...cheaper than a replacement barrel. My Load-All through's different than the chart with Red Dot.

My 155 bushing drops 17gr of Red Dot on a consistent basis. And the load data in the LEE box was developed before the newer Red Dot formula hit the streets a few years back. (They used the jingle, "cleaner burning" in their advertisements for the new container as well) double check with a scale by all means.

With all that being said...Red Dot is a great powder for 12 gauge reloads.
