Ok guys, since I am worthless with percentages I thought I would throw this out there and see where it ends up.

Let's say that I have 100 lbs of lead. How much of the Super Hard Alloy from Rotometals will I need to add to get the antimony close to what is in ww alloy? I will also be adding tin, but I think I can get that one figured out.

Thanks in advance,

Rich

Call Rotometals. They will love to sell you what you need.

Common clip on wheel weights are, as I recall, around 5% antimony, so you'd need five parts pure to on part super-hard (if I'm correctly recalling super-hard as 30% antimony). Of course, if you tin you're adding isn't pure, but a tin-lead alloy, you'll need to do a full alloy calculation (lead+lead+lead/antimony/tin) to get the both percentages where you want them.

I was going to get the tin from them as well and I do believe that their tin is pretty good on the purity.

If you buy pure tin from them, then yes, it'll be pretty pure. Carry on... :coffee:
