OK I know this is California but as we all know as goes California so goes the rest sooner or later.

Stopped by my local lead supplier today to check and see if there was any available.
Only had 35 lbs and wanted $1.50 a pound.
Told me this would be the last he would be able to sell me unless I had a federal license!

Didn't buy it and walked out.
Don't know if it is a scam or for real but knowing California it is probably real so stock up while you can.

Been to CA and seen a bunch of it and NO the rest don't always go that way. You need to leave the left coast for a while and see what life is like outside the "Socialist Republik o California". It is very different most other places in this country. And I thank GOD for that every day. Best, 10 ga

No it's not true, but it is what they are told by local EPA. They just can not throw it away in the trash. Anyone can haul it off though. The shops just do not want to mess w/ EPA, state or Feds. The fines are enormous & the court battles long, so they just play it safe.
To those that think this krap isn't coming to a state near you, HA!. The lead ww will be extinct sooner than later. Either thru local laws, Federal laws or just supply. The largest auto market in the USA is Kommifornia. The ww manuf are not making two, lead wts & zinc when they can just make zinc & sell that. So stack it deep, it's getting a lot harder to find.

I agree with fred. Lead WW's are scarce in my area. I mean, they're there, it's just that us small guys arn't able to buy them. Many of the big chain tire shops have contracts they have to fulfill. Almost all of the small tire shops have people who already purchase their lead. Right now, if you want lead, get to know roofing companies and plumbers.

Here in IL, lead wheel weights are also extinct. There are millions of them still out there, but no more are allowed for the last couple of years. I still have a supply of them, but when they're gone, that's it.
