what would be a good source or choice for antimony? I understand that pure lead needs tin and antimony to make a good boollet. I have the tin part, and the lead part, just not sure about the antimony. Thanks.

superhard from rotometals , here is a link ...
http://www.rotometals.com/product-p/30_antimony_70_lead.htm
its 30 % antimony 70 % lead and will alloy easily with lead alloys

Linotype or monotype if you can find it. Also, you can always offer dead soft in trade for harder alloy.

Know any print shops in your area? Some might have some old print type laying around.

+1 for Rotometals SuperHard. Which ever way you go, do the math on what you pay for antimony since you have your tin.

So, if we buy the 30/70 Rotometal bars, what ratio of pure (water pipe) should we mix to get four to six percent antimoney?

In the past, I used indoor range lead 50/50 with wheel weights and a bit of lino to get a good alloy. Now, 90% of the indoor scrap is jacketed with soft cores as the IPSC shooters have switched to Jacketed in 9mm and 38 Super. Hardly any cast boolits at all. I'm having to add more and more of my limited supply of tin and lino to get a good alloy for 9mm, 38 Super and 40 S&W. It's difficult to get any wheel weights in my area,so it looks like Rotometals will be an acceptable alternative for WWs.

Let's say you have one pound of the 30/70 Rotometal, it contains .3 pounds of antimony and .7 pounds of lead. .3 pounds equals 4.8 ounces. Add 5.3 pounds of pure lead and the .7 pounds already contained in the Rotometal and you get an alloy of about 5% antimony and 95% pure lead.

Reclaimed hard shot is also a good source. I prefer reclaimed as mot of the graphite coating is gone & melts easier. Lino is easier but cost more & getting harder to find cheap.

Thanks guys for all of the great info. Is antimony something that can be had or found in pure form, or is it always found in other materials?

It can be found in pure form but not easily and it is my understanding that in pure form it is very hard to melt into lead.
