Hi guys, just got my Lee Mould yesterday!
Looked over the mould and found it to have a few burrs and unfinished/trimmed edges.

Spent a few hours casting 10 lbs of boolets. They look really sharp, and weight in at 132 grains average. This mould seems to produce a very consistant weight.
The boolet mics out at .2855. This seems about right.

The only H&I sizing die available here was .284". So I will give it a try. Wish it was a .286"die!

I will be shooting these boolets In a Contender Carbine 21" stainless, heavy custom shop barrel.

I loaded up 4 different test loads to see what they will do.
I choose IMR SR4759 & IMR3031 to start. I am hoping to get in the niehbourhood of 1850-1950fps with the IMR SR4759, and 2000-2100fps with the IMR3031.

I seated all the test loads to an overall length to engrave the rifling upon closing the action. Not too tight, but enough to positively align the cartridge.

The next day I find available, I will shoot these into some targets and post the results.
Now, if only the weather would cooperate! Lol!

I use that mold some in my 7 TCU and my 7-30 Waters. Good boolit in both.
After accuracy testing, try the BearTooth method. Water quench, then anneal the nose. It makes one heck of a hammer for game.

Hopefully it works well! I am still waiting for a day to go shooting!
Only weekends are possible to shoot here this time of year. Short daylight hours, so its dark 1/2 hour after work!

But in the spring, it is shootable light untill nearly midnight!
