Was looking at getting one of these in 12 guage 3" chamber. Any pluses or minuses. It looks like a Ithaca 37 except for the tang safety.

I had one once in 10 gauge 3 1/2" and it actually handled not to badly .
I'm sure the 12 gauge would be a touch better since it's not as bulky .

I had one back in the mid 80s for a short time. Great solid gun with a magazine cut off. I like the mag cut off (same on my A5) feature for at times I've been deer hunting and had a slug loaded and then have a turkey walk by. Nice to be able to swap loads. With the steel reciever it would absorb recoil more but would be a minus if upland hunting (carrying all day).

I have had a Browning BPS with full choke barrel (fixed choke) and buck and slug barrel for about 30 years. I have always liked it and never had a problem.
Very well built, very solid, excellent finish and fit of wood and metal.

I've had one for 26 years. Never once has it given me any problem. 21" barrel for quail. 26" barrel for everything else. Even shot my first 2 deer with it.
