I purchased this American Classic Commander a few months ago and haven't had a whole lot of time to shoot it. In fact I had only ran 100 rounds of Blazers thru it prior to today and it didn't shoot them into anything I would call a group. Maybe 8-10" at best.
I made and loaded up some Lee 200 SWC over Red Dot from 4.0 to 4.8 grains.
This pic is of a 10 shot group at 15 yards from a bench with 4.2 gr RD. It may not be considered good for some of you, but for me I think it is great with the exception of the one lone high flier. The 4.0 gr shot almost as good but had more l-r in it and any hotter then the groups opened up. I ran 70 rounds total thru it and I did see just a tiny bit of lead streaking just in front of the throat in only one groove. The bullets are tumble lubed with Lee alox and JPW mix and they were only tumbled once after sizing to .452. Maybe I should do it twice. I'll do a little more experimenting with that.
Anyway after putting ($55.00 worth)100 rounds of Blazers thru it and hardly hitting the target, I was pumped after shooting these lead bullets that I made.:-D
Also I recovered 2 bullets from the dirt.

Good shooting and good fun! Did you water drop those boolits? there is little distortion on the recovered boolits. If so the streak of lead may go away if you let them air cool.

These were straight ww and air cooled. The lead came out real easy so I don't think it will be a problem. The bullets were shot thru my cardboard target into the ground at an angle. I was surprised too that there is very little distortion but the ground is pretty soft right now. I dug these out with my fingers.

Clean that barrel up really well, make sure there is no trace at all of the copper jacketed stuff you shot in the first place.
You will discover that the more lead you shoot through it, the more accurate it will get, and the less lead deposits you will get.
Welcome to the world of lead bullets. Everything to gain, nothing to lose.
Nice shooting, and nice pistol.

Great results, IME .45 ACP works extremely well with boolits.

Randy, great job.:Fire:
When I load for my 45 I always coat the boolits with JPW.
