went to the range yesterday and today to try some reloads against an invasion of propane cylinders @ 50 yrds
First was hornady 55gr fmj 2800fps from m4
Entry hole .232 Exit .258

Next is swaglet made from frederal 22 lr case on Kane dies with a #6 steel pellet added to promote expansion.

Notice dimple under exit where pellet seperated.

Then came my cast .310 pb rn WDWW boolits from my .30 carbine
1900 fps

upper right hole was molly coated tip entry hole .353 exit .389 ,
lower left is non moly coated entry.659 , exit .365

Suprisingly the lee soupcan (120 gr with check and lube) moving along at 1825 fps punched a nice clean entry hole .360 and exit .442

More proof that factory/premium commercial bullets really aren't very premium.
Also a great example of why I'd prefer a .30 carbine to a .223 for defensive use.
I haven't tried Kane dies, but I do have .44 and .45 Hawk Bullets swaging dies, and like them.
I've thought about making my own swaging dies, since I can't find any Hawk dies, anymore.
