I have been casting for pistol for about 7 or 8 years but am just now getting into rifle casting. I think I'm going to get a mold from accurate but don't know what to look for. I would like one heavy boolit (180-200gr) in a flat point design for 308, 30-06, and 300rum. I have heard about not seating the gas check below the neck. This bore riding concept is new to me as well. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

they don't have to be bore riding.
all of those rifles have different throats,i'm interested in what will offered up as what will work in both the 308 and 0-6.

These are dummy rounds in a 308
top is a 311284 225gr
Middle is a 311331 200gr
bottom is a 311290 160gr I think

These are also dummy rounds in a 308
top 311247 247gr
middle some goofy mould that won't work
bottom 311365 200gr

of all of them the ones that work for me in both 30-06 and 308 are the 311284 and the 311365, I have not tried the rest in both my 308 and my 30-06

for target and accuracy I like the 311365 the best

Blammer, I just got the 311365 for my 308 when life interupted all the testing & load work, traveling out of state looking for real estate, buying a house, moving etc. Haven't done hardly anything with it yet.

So . . . What loads in your 308 have been working for you and at what velocity?

Thanks for any help you can be.

Rick

The reason for the range of cartridges is because the ultra will go away in favor of an -06 and my dad has a 308.
