Opinions please

I am looking at a rifle on GB that has a Redfield partner in 3-9 40mm. Has anyone had any experience with this scope? Good or Bad. The rifle has a fairly good price so I don't want to take too much time.

If this is the one from about twenty years ago, I had one on a Ruger 77 in .30-06. The eye relief was a bit short and the scope ended up on a Remington 788 in .223.

The problem was the Butler Creek lens cover, on recoil the little red latch would hit me on the bridge of my nose while shooting prone. It was a decent scope other than that.
