Started work up loads today with my first castings from a 124gr TC mold and in the Lymans manual it shows a OAL of 1.110 but if I use that length the boolet hits the throat just above the case mouth.
To clear the throat I had to go down to 1.050 OAL
My loads for testing are 3.4gr, 3.7gr, & 4.0gr of Bullseye
These will be shot from a glock 17 with a 6" Lonewolf Stainless barrel

Will the OAL cause me any Pressure problems ?

Thanks Steve

I have the Saeco #377 122gr TC bullet , in my 9mm's i use a COL of 1.050 for function & accuracy
I also have 2 more moulds a Saeco #384 122gr RN @ COl 1.150 and a RCBS 122gr RN GC @ COL 1.135., for all of my pistols in 9mm.

The old Lyman #256402 has a long nose going out to a small meplat. So you get that long C.O.L.

I load my Saeco between 1.040”. At 1.050” the Saeco 122gr TC #377 is set down in the case the same depth as the Lyman #356402 laoded to there listed COL of 1.110". So you can use the Lyman load data.

Remove the barrel from your pistol and use it as a gage to set C.O.L.
There is a pretty good sticky on reloading 9mm.
Bullseye will work well fro reduced target laods. At 4.0 grains you’ll probably start to see high pressure with some case head expansion. Which will open your primer pockets in five loadings or so. Some of my most accurate 9mm loads were with 90 & 100 grain bullets over slightly reduced Bullseye charges. For max power loads you’ll want a slower powder like Unique, WSF, AA#5 and others. Power Pistol is very popular but I had no luck with it. Ran into high pressure well before reaching the published max velocity. And with the published max load I didn’t achieve listed velocity. Pressure was determined by measuring case heads before and after with a micrometer.
