Does anyone else have a Shoffstall's Universal Primer Seater? The unit works good. It has a universal case holder and came with stuff for both small and large primers. It even has the rounded primer seaters. Primers seat a little hard - I am thinking about adding a wood handle extension that slips over the existing handle.58611

I've never heard of Shoffstall before, but that is a sweet looking piece of machinery. Where/when did you get it?

I have'nt heard of it either. Is it old school? Or current manufacture?

The Shoffstall is old school. It comes with both the flat and rounded primer cups.

I got it off ebay a couple of weeks ago.

Looks nice and simple. I like the idea of the universal shell holder. Sounds similar to the Forester in that respect.

Your extension idea sounds promising.

Thanks for the pic and info.

Any relation to Schoffstall, owner of C. Sharps?

Nice catch on the Shoafstall. I do not have a lot of info on them other than they show up in the early Handloaders digest's. I do have a copy of the instructions if you need them.

As cool as that thing is, one thing I do NOT need is another large piece of machinery cluttering up my reloading bench. My Lee hand primer works just fine for most applications, and for the few cases where Lee doesn't make a suitable shellholder, my ram prime works just peachy.

Still, it is a cool thing 'just because'. :)

The Shoafstall is a refined version of the earlier Vamco (Valley Engineering, Vestal NY). The Vamco is shown in the 1st Edition Handloaders Digest as is the Shoafstall Universal shell holder. The 3rd edition has the Shoafstall primer tool. There is not a lot of change, Vamco's shell holder is replaced with Shoafstall's and the primer slide is slightly different. The Shoafstall sows better fit and finish.
