One of the curses of buying box lots at auctions is that you wind up with stuff you didn't want or need, and in this case I don't even know exactly what it is. Obviously a double-stack detachable military magazine for a round about the size of the .308, but doesn't have any of the latching details of an M1A or M14. Has that curiously Asian-looking marking, but nothing else. Steel. Any ideas? No prize, (except bragging rights). Any help will be appreciated.

Got one in my non-typing hand right now. That's an FN-FAL mag, so the L1A1 post is also correct.

And nooooooooooooooooo, not .308.

7.62X51 NATO. (yes I am being a smart-mouthed jerk!!!)

+1 on mag not your comment on the intelligence of your mouth lol. Saw enough of those mags during my service days.

Sorry, long day at work and now I got a couple of glasses of Kentucky's finest export in me so I'm feeling a little froggy.

And everybody, Runfive gets to guess correctly first next time.

Thanks guys !

I'm more of an antique single-shot guy, so I'll never have any need for it. So I'm gonna put this on GB as soon as possible so it can get into hands that can use it before it becomes illegal to sell it or ship it! Unless one of you wants to grab it first. . . .

definitely Hebrew , metric pattern Fal mag be my guess ,

FN-FAL Israeli 20 round magazine - and in good shape too.
Several Israeli marked, mix of marked (Mn or Zn) bodies, some w/ date and IDF mark
(e.g. 80YN- where YN is the Hebrew marking), some just YN-in-oval on lower LS back corner of body

I had an FN-Fal years ago

the cops wouldn't let me hunt moose with it, so I sold it.

it was one of those select fire one that had been discombobulated, but with a little file work one day cleaning up the blob of weld on the selector, I found it would go full auto if you didn't put that thing back in.....

I don't think it was safe to do so, but it sure was noisy in the basement!

Looks like the FN 20 shot mags. we used in the army, don't know about any Isreali connection.

Metric FAL, NOT inch FAL - MASSIVE welded on front lug on inch mags, not the
little dimple.

Yes it is a Israeli FN-FAL metric mag. I bought 20 of them new back in the early 1990's for $4 each- Those were the days!!
