Looking for ideas on building a ventilation system to put up in my garage. Pictures would be great , if not maybe a list of materials used . Thinking maybe some type of hood with a fan and duct work to run the fumes outside. Was considering a range hood but not sure if the air movement would be strong enough. Been casting next to a window with a fan blowing but when fluxing the smoke gets pretty intense and the fan does not seem to move it all out the window especially if there is a breeze blowing in. Any ideas would be great.

This cost about $25. Bathroom fart fan mounted in scrap lumber. Just fits in the window slot and held in place with the sliding portion.

The flexible vent makes a 90* down turn outside for wind/rain.

Bathroom fan from homedepot, 7 inch industrial scat tube. 7 inch metal tube from A/C place in town (got that free) mounted thru the ceiling hole to the raffters. Then more scat up to a pancake attic fan. Twin fan system.

Just need a 30 lb pot.

Wow, I am so low tech. I crack the garage door with a box fan blowing out underneath the door. Door faces south so anything out of a westerly direction is going to get a draft going. Of course I'm not hunched over the pot clearing my sinus's either. ;-)

Nice and elegant setup. I use the open garage door and fan method myself.
