Anyone know why Lee only offer their 6-bangers in pistol calibers?

My guess would be simply demand, they, for some reason, have determined that they simply wouldn't sell well.

Lee can make a 6-banger if they want to. The Ranch Dog molds, both handgun and rifle bullets, were made in Lee 6-cavity molds. I believe some group buys for rifle bullets were made by Lee in 6 cavity molds. What they want to make is based on what they think will be most profitable. If you want to be the honcho for a group buy Lee would probably make it for you.

Ya we have gotten rifle molds in 5 cavity, there may be some length restriction but I have a couple 30 caliber 6 cavity molds that were group buys. Many people for a rifle only want a 1 cavity mold, they will mark and sort bullets from a 2 cavity...but I bet your AVERAGE buyer of a Lee rifle mold has no interest in 6 cavity.

Most rifle shooters aren't interested in that volume of bullets.
Like Willbird said, it is the AVERAGE buyer that matters. Unless they sell lots it isn't worth making them. I doubt retailers are interested in stocking them either, who wants to stock something that isn't likely to sell?

Purely a business decision.

The six cavity block is roughly 1.125" in thickness, and some bullet designs from lee simply wouldn't fit in a six gang configuration.

Hmmmm...I could have sworn that Lee made one in .225. When I checked their website and Midway, it's not there. Please tell me I'm not crazy, was there one at one time?

Man I have either a 93 or a 100 grain or so 30/32 caliber round nose 6 cavity, it is a BEAR to run due to cold blocks from tiny bullets. I could not imagine trying to get a 22 6 cavity running :-).

I believe that was the .22 Bator mold that was available from Midsouth. Not sure if its still available in six cavity or not.

it goes on backorder at midsouth then when they get enough ordered they do a run.
it seems like they change the design just about every time.
