Thanks to the generosity of a friend who casts commercially, he heard I was interested in casting and invited me over to show me the ropes and try his stuff before I went out and bought everything. He had a bunch of alloy mixed up for me already, and I brought along a new mold from Accurate for the bullet I wanted. It took a little while for me to get the hang of it and get good looking bullets with no wrinkles, but once the mold got up to temp and I got a rhythm going I started cranking out lots of them. He just kept on adding more to the pot and I kept on pouring bullets and by the time we used up the lead he had made for me I ended up with just shy of 1000 nice looking bullets. :-D And he let me use his Star lubesizer to lube about 100 of them with SPG. But they were dropping right at about .358-.3585 and almost perfectly round, so I may just pan lube them and not bother sizing them, since I don't have a lubesizer yet.
That Accurate mold was really nice, and he was impressed with it. I was casting about as fast as I could and we were watching for the bullets to start to get frosted, but they never did. Maybe cause I got a 4 cavity mold with the bigger mold block size it held a good temperature better.
Thanks to all the good information on the site here and with his help it made it so much easier than trying to figure this out on my own!
