I have a nice old Marlin 375 that in its earlier life had its stock modified somewhat. It shoots and handles great but I would like to find an old factory replacement stock that is as factory stock as they get. Does anyone know if the 375 requires a different stock than a standard 336 with pistol grip. If I can determine what will work I plan to post in the WTB section. Thanks for any help.

Your rifle uses the same buttstock as the 336, 444, 1895, and 39a. These models all share a common tang dimension after about 1962 production. The 375 would have had an uncheckered stock set any of the three years it was manufactured. The forend is the same as the endcap style forend on the 1894 in 41mag,44mag, or 45colt. The barrel band model forend from a 336 or 1894 will be shorter and your magazine tube shouldn't be cut for the band screw. The fore stock from a 444 manufactured after 1971 will also fit. Good luck as nice examples of these uncheckered stock sets are getting harder to come by.
