This is really some crazy stuff here. 223 Brass is selling on gunbroker for big money... $170-180 per 1000. Makes me want to jump on the bandwagon and sell off 10k...

This world is going crazy. Just another day for me. How about you guys?:drinks:

I am pretty sure if I had 10,000 empty brass right now 9,000 of it would be for sale. lol

Wow. I don't shoot the .223 enough to justify pre panic prices, and I had an AR and bolt gun. That is before the boating accident...

I did look at a 460 Rowland conversion though. At least for me most of the stuff I shoot is odd so shortages are nothing new, and nobody wants it anyway.

Spent some time on the Dillon website (which is the worst disorganized in the world) and got some stuff. Threw a snowball at a magpie and missed. Yep just another normal day.

Well, I was rooting thru some stuff that hadn't seen sunshine since Moses was a child and found 5 boxes of .223 cartridges, UMC brass, marked $5.07 each. Can't decide whether to shoot it, keep it for posterity, or sell it. Think I'll just shoot it and reload. GW

Nah, no worries here. I just wait for the jokers that spend $400-500.00 bucks on ammo to blast it all. "Don't worry sir/guy's I'll get that for ya!" ;-) Then the question that always follows, "Why did you pick theirs up and not mine?" I say then, "They were shooting Federal brass, you are shooting Tula and steel, here's the magnet....:-D

I wonder if I can unload some of the steel I have hoarded up. Hmmmmm....

I'm stumped, people are still buying .223 brass?
Since Christmas I've picked up 43 pounds of it at our informal local ranges (yes I did weigh it).
Guess you got to love rich boys and their toys.

I'm getting ready to turn loose of a Colt, one of the "restricted" marked LE6920s :) and 500 SMK HPBT 77 gr 'cannelured' bullets. Well, maybe.

I have had it a while and only put 100 rounds through it and then put it back in the plastic and into the box it came in.

I don't need it and I'm starting to wonder how much I want it. Someone else may want it more ;)

Gee at my range up till last month 223 brass was like dirt. I pickup a ton of it. After loading some of it I just tumble the rest and box it up for a rainey day. I probally have 6-8k of it. I will have to start picking up with a vengence at the next few 3-gun events.

Are they selling it on gunbroker or listing it? Big difference in those two.

The 5.56/223 brass is selling with multiple bids way over $125.00/1000. New 1000 pieces of Federal primed only- not loaded was at $ 350.00/1000. I might just wait and unload new never fired Lake City Brass and some once fired non crimped Lake City if prices go higher or remain strong. When I look for .224 bullets 55 grain many are back ordered until April some till June and no deals.

I saved a couple of auctions and saw 23 bidders on one and 14 on another at $178. What is wrong with these people?
When i goto the range the military guys shoot 5000 and leave it on the ground. Last year i gave 5 gallon buckets to friends for free.
It would take me years to shoot that much in my single shots and bolt actions.
I am glad i dont need guns and ammo right now... Of-course if a nice 1885 fell on my lap i wouldn't shoe it away...

A local range had 43K .223 brass in stock on Monday. The had it priced at $45.00 per thousand. Two men came in and saw it and bought the whole lot. Maybe they are big time reloaders. :) Or more likely, big time re-sellers! There is no .223 brass to be had around here at any (reasonable) price! It's really getting crazy.

I find it funny that in one thread we have
175 per thousand brass
125 unprimed to 350 primed per thousand (primers are getting expensive)
guys picking up 43 pounds for free thumbs up here
2 guys buying 43,000 at one time.
Yup folks is going nuts. lol

Darn!! Less than a month ago, I took 1 1/2 5-gal. buckets of range brass...probably half of it 5.56/.223...to the recyclers and got something like $2.00/lb. for it. Last Monday, I stopped by the range to fire-form some 7.5 Swiss in my G96/11 and, while I was there, picked up 90+ once-fired R-P .223s, all in a pile just in front of the shooting benches but I'll bet, when the gate closes tomorrow afternoon, there ain't gonna be anything steel-case and rimfire left on the ground.
