I thought I knew what this leather strap was but now I'm not so sure. Anybody know what it is?

I don't know how big it is, but it looks like an arm strap that goes around the upper arm, then a short sling is clipped to it for target shooting. My best guess !

reloaderman, I thought it may be what you suggested but if it is, the person using it would have had really small arms. The wide strap is only nine inches. Maybe a junior shooter that was not on steroids.

l also think ankle holster. El Paso made/makes shoulder holsters that have the leather covered
clip just like that one. I think it held a J-frame or Dick special to your ankle.

See if a small .32 or .38 revolver will fit.
