I slugged my barrel of my Win 94 357 mag today.

(thanks for the stuff Tycer!)

I met Tycer today and went home with some 36 cal RB's to slug brl with, so I put them to good use.

Here are the numbers I got.

.347
.356

I don't suppose it matter what direction you push the slug through.

I also happened to find a copper full metal jacket FP I shot and it measured the same.

my bore appears to be somewhat rough, but it still shoots pretty good!

I think a few 1000 rnds may help it smooth out some... :}

anybody else have a bore this small?

"anybody else have a bore this small?"

I think it is pretty common with Win. 94's in .357, mine is right there with yours I noticed in the Lyman #48 that the win 94 in 357 they used was right there as well.

I guess the only jacketed round ever fired in mine was the proof load. Mine has ate around 200lbs of the 180 LBT and close to 100lbs of the RCBS 200 plus quite a few pounds of the lyman 315 & 627 and the 180 rcbs all sized at .359. I had it eight years before I ever slugged the bore it always shot cast so good I didn't care what it was, then I picked up a copy of the Lyman # 48 and curiosity got the better of me.

good luck

Mine slugs out at .3565"

I size to .358" and accuracy was good enough for plinking. Probably will order a .359" Star Sizer die from Magma and give that size a try next.

I would be as concerned as how it felt slugging things. Was it smooth all the way down or were there times it felt as though it was free then tighter? A even cut bore is rare but if it is generally consistant it should shoot good assuming boolits are sized correctly.
