Happy Birthday America

Just got back from the annual fire works show at the gun club. I thought that I would wish my country Happy Birthday! I drank a beer or two, watched a prairie thunderstorm off to the NE and saw a great show. Visited with some friends and had my family with me. Grandkids had a really good time.

As Sundog can attest, we here in OK have had more than our share of rain this past month. Today was the first in twenty days without rain in the OKC area. And this evening was wonderful flying weather. Right at dusk Mrs. oksmle & I crawled into our Cessna 150 (Bob), & took off into a beautiful sunset. We flew around for about an hour doing "touch & goes" at our local airport. Then when we started seeing fireworks going off over in the distance we climbed up to about 3500'. From that altitude we were able to see all the fireworks in Pauls Valley, Moore, Norman, Purcell, & several places in OKC. Must have been over a thirty mile radius. And everyone was putting on a show just for us.... Fantastic!
And I didn't even screw up the landing....
