Tried the search feature but no luck finding who I can send an existing mold to have it modified to hollow point, any
help would be appreciated. Thanks, Ronald Wodruff

It depends on what kind of mold you have and whether you want a single hollow pointer. The link above to Eric's site is a good one for multi-cavity molds with hollow points. Eric does a great job. If you want a single hollow pointer with the handle you pull on each cast I would probably get Buckshot (a moderator here) to do it. He also does a great job.

Buckshot has a track record of producing very accurate results with mould modifications.

Erik at hollow point mould service http://www.hollowpointmold.com/ can also do 1 cavity with a Lyman type pin, Cramer conversion or his insert bar conversion. Take a look at his examples on his sight.

Hollow pointing a lead bullet seems like a good idea and they used to be easily avaliable from Lyman; not now. There's a reason for that; they just don't work out very well.

I have no problems casting hollowpoints with the mould Buckshot modified for me. Preheat the mould and get the pin HOT.

"Buckshot" has done H.P. jobs for me on molds from .357 up to .416. He`ll get anymore business if I want more work done.Robert

+1 for Buckshot; he's the "go-to" guy for HP work.

He's done two for me so far, excellent work and short turn around time also.

Please calrify "they don't work well". I find them to be more accurate, deadlier on varmits and a pain in the rear to cast with sometimes.

Either Erik from hollowpointmold.com or Buckshot do good jobs of converting moulds to hollowpoint. I've never used one of Buckshot's moulds, but I've used a couple of Erik's moulds, and can say from personal experience that they're top notch! Erik does other mould modifications as well, and he did a great job of fixing the sprue plate on a SAECO 8 cavity mould that I had that had a sprueplate on it that wasn't from SAECO, but rather a machinist that wasn't a boolit caster, so while it was made very well, it had a few things on it that were wrong, but Erik was able to fix it, so now it's a great casting mould. Erik also sells some Lee 2 cavity moulds that he's modified to hollowpoints using his inset bar method, and they cast easier and better than a normal Lee 2 cavity mould would. He can also do other modifications, such as enlarging the diameter of the drive bands on a mould if it's not casting large enough, so checkout his website, you won't be disappointed with his work.
