Some time back I purchased custom made plates for a couple Lyman molds. I can't remember where. Is there anyone making such critters today? Thanks.

Those "were" sold by CabineTree, however I think Gussy said they discontinued them. There is a link lower to his site,,CastingStuff.

Hey Backgear, I just noticed that you're our newest member! Welcome to the Forum! You got questions, we got answers.

I just received two new Lyman sprueplates (two cav.) from Midway, and they are the new, thicker plates that I will use to repair some Ebay molds. I don't know what you're looking for in a custom sprueplate, but these will serve my needs just fine.

Backgear:

You can now get the new, thicker sprue-plates from Lyman themselves via Customer Service, either the plates alone, or as part of the Mould rebuild kits. But, they are available only for the larger, 2-cavity size blocks (as one- or two-holers; specify which), not the older, smaller single-cavity blocks. A couple of the folks here have made replacement, thick plates for both sizes.

I wonder if I could just drill a new hole in the replacement sprue plate to fit some of my older style moulds ????????

I bet I could just use the old plate a a template :castmine:
Have to order a few

Rick Kalynuik makes replacement sprue plates. He sent me a couple of 'samples' along with the load of mould handles we had a group buy on.

He posts here as Red River Rick, so you can PM him for information on anything he makes...which includes paper patch bullet moulds.
