Marlin XT 22 Question

I'm thinking about getting a Marlin XT 22 with a tubular magazine. I like having the ability to shoot 22 shorts through 22 lr. One question...I plan to use this as a practice rifle due to rising ammo costs. I want the ability to add a 3rd sling stud so that I can install a ching sling (I want to test out this setup) and it will be cheapest to do with a 22. Would this be possible with an XT22? Is there enough room to install the stud?

Also, any feedback on the gun itself is appreciated.

I have an XTR that I use for 'coon hunting. I'm not familiar with a 'ching sling', though.

Just buy a sling swivel for tube magazines and add the 3rd. ;)

I had to google the ching sling. Has anybody here used one, and what are the pro's and con's?
