model 53

My brother just found a pretty sweet appearing Win. 53 in 25-20. We went to look at the gun yesterday but the place was closed, dangit. I wanted to see the gun before he parted with cash (he wanted my opinion) but I guess that's not gonna happen. He has good judgement so I trust him to do the right thing but I sure would like to see it too. Guess I will have to get a new mould soon if he ends up buying it. Biggest thing is I am kinda PO'ed because I've been on the hunt for a nice 25-20 myself. Oh well. JW

Nice Rifles especially if the bore is excellent. I had one in take down but unfortuantely did not keep it- my mistake. This forum and the Marlin Owners forum have provided excellent information on loading the 25-20 for me http://www.marlinowners.com/forum/reloading/26002-25-20-reloaders.html

I have a 53 TD 25 and love it and will never part with it. Now just to get one in 44.

ohiochuck and Marvin S. Thanks for the comments. Supposedly this 53 has an excellent bore, I do not know for sure not seeing it with my own eyes. Waiting to hear from my brother to see if he ended up with it. He already has an old 1892 in 25-20 so this will make a nice addition. JW

Gun was sold before my brother got to it. Oh well. JW
