Making my first batch of 45/45/10.

Is the ratio of 45JPW before or after reduction of solvents?

Measure by volume AFTER the JPW is cooked per instructiuons in the sticky.

easy instructions.
get some jpw out of the can.
melt it.
watch for the solvents to "steam" off.
you'll smell them too.
keep it on the heat for a little longer.
then add that much alox/xlox to the heated jpw [i go a little less by mark one eyeball]
you can measure it if you want.
stir it around.
pour in some mineral spirits 10% of the jpw/alox volume, more hurts nothing
it's gonna evaporate anyway.

in a few months when you get it out again and it's hard.
heat it up.
put some more mineral spirits in it.
stir it around.
and use it.

IOW, if you hear hoofbeats, think horses, not zebras!

Thanks guys, I was so excited after casting my first bullets, and wanting to get them lubed with this mix, I over looked that part of the instructions. The lube turned out great! However I still don't know if there is enough on them after sizing and relubing. I can see that there is lube on the bullets and can scratch it off, however it is VERY thin. No color can be seen on the outside of one batch that I did. In another batch the color is barely visable. I might try to go for this level of coating with all of them.

a light gold varnish look is about right.
i add some tre-wax to my jpw when making it.
it stains the lube a red-brown color and i can see it on the boolits better.
